Our Purpose

​

    Our purpose is to help young Haitian women develop the character, social skills, spiritual gifts, and practical abilities that will equip them for life and ministry.

Curriculum

​

    We offer courses in embroidery, crochet, sewing, cooking, baking, etiquette, health, domestic economics, and other subjects to enhance each woman’s ability to effectively care for her children and family.  Additional courses in computers and English enable our students to take advantage of new job opportunities that are beginning to develop in Haiti.

Leadership Training

​

     Students receive training in hospitality, child development, teaching, and serving.  With these skills, they can be a tremendous asset to their churches, schools, and communities.

Economic Independence

  

     Students and graduates of Centre Lumière can participate in the production of our line of handcrafted products as a way to pay for their education and provide an income for their families. Reliable income brings financial security and sustainability to their own lives and also stimulates economic growth in their communities.

Spiritual and Social Development

​

   Courses in Bible and Christian living encourage the students to develop a strong spiritual foundation.  Our staff and teachers develop mentoring relationships with the students and a daily devotional time plays a fundamental role in nurturing spiritual growth and social consciousness.
